The (in)famous hockey stick impact curve of MSD programmes, which only shows reach and results over the longer term, is often cited as a reason why results are not always visible at the time of an evaluation.
This has led to criticism of the MSD approach not being able to prove its viability and applicability as a development strategy.
This is a joint webinar between the evaluation team and the programme team of Nigeria’s Propcom Mai-karfi. It will present the results and impact of two components - poultry vaccination and women’s economic empowerment (WEE) - of a five-year longitudinal evaluation of this MSD programme.
As well as presenting the results of the evaluation the speakers will explore the mutually beneficial relationship between the programme and the evaluation team and how this impacted positively on both.
The presentations will include:
- a brief overview of the evaluation methodology, making it applicable to an adaptive programme
- the results of the overall programme, with a deeper quantitative probe into the poultry vaccination intervention and the WEE interventions
- an exploration of how the evaluation and implementation teams worked independently but cooperatively, benefiting both parties, and allowing the programme to adapt using independent data
