Collins Apuoyo has vast private-sector development experience in several capacities and in several Africa countries. He has worked with DFID Kenya as Senior Programme Officer/Advisor for private sector development. He also worked with SNV Netherlands Development Organization in South Sudan to develop strategies that promote economic and value chain development in a post-conflict setting. He also worked in Zimbabwe between 2011 and 2013 leading a market-led agriculture revitalization programme.

In 2014, Collins joined PropCom Maikarfi, a DFID funded market development programme in Nigeria as Markets Group Director, rising to become the Team Leader in 2016.

Currently, Collins is the Team Leader of NUTEC Market Development Project. NU-TEC MD is a five year DFID funded programme that aims to increase the incomes and climate resilience of poor men and women in northern Uganda by stimulating sustainable, pro-poor growth in selected agricultural markets and improving the position of poor men and women within these market systems, to make them more inclusive for poor people.

Collins is passionate about innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability and environment. His work in social entrepreneurship has earned him several awards; including the Global Award for Innovations from the World Bank. He is an Ashoka Fellow in recognition of his innovative work on poverty reduction. He is a recipient of the Dubai Award for Improving the Living Environment. He is also a Global Social Benefit Fellow of Santa Clara University, California.
