Patricia has been Head of Profession for DFID’s 80 Private Sector Development Advisers since January 2015, supporting resourcing and building professional capacity across DFID and helping to shape private sector development strategy and policy across the  organisation. Previously she was a Senior Adviser in DFID’s International Financial Institutions Department and an Adviser with DFID Nigeria where she lead on financial sector development, trade and the Lagos economy and an innovative programme applying the market systems development approach to the low cost private school sector.

She has worked with the World Bank in Washington DC, and before moving into international development, with the Institute for Public Policy Research in London, for the Mayor for London with GLA Economics, and in consultancy. In all her work, she has taken an interest in understanding when markets work, when markets fail and government intervention to address market failure.
