Sr. Consultant, Livelihoods and Economic Recovery in Crisis
Sarah Ward is a post-conflict/post-disaster market systems specialist with more than 20 years technical experience adapting market development approaches to some of the world’s most challenging contexts. She works with refugees, mobile populations and those around them. She also helps organizations with facilitation, technical support and evaluation, sector strategy, program design and management, resilience building, cash-based programming, inclusive market system support and financial inclusion. With 15 years directly implementing large-scale relief and recovery programs in the field, she has experience with government ministries, CBOs and INGOs nationally and internationally. She is now a senior independent consultant and member of UNHCR’s Livelihoods Advisory Board. She has lived for many years in West Africa in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Benin and worked extensively in counties across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Many, ,many, many years ago, she helped launch Junior Achievement in Benin and it is still going strong. She speaks French and Spanish, is a proud mother of three, a former small-business owner and a partner in her family business.
