Md. Mahfuz Ashraf
This is Md. Mahfuz Ashraf, Bangladeshi, graduated from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh in B.Sc in Agriculture in 1996 (Exam held in 2000) and Master of Business Administration with a major in Project Management from Atlantic International University, USA . I am 44 years old. At present I am working with BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania under Livelihood Enhancement through Agricultural Development (LEAD) Project as Manager Market Development since April 2013. Before my present job, I have been worked with HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Bangladesh under KATALYST, Ministry of Commerce, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in market development project for 3 years as Regional Coordinator (RC). I have been worked with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) under Livelihood Adaptation to Climate Change (LACC II) Project in Bangladesh. I have also been worked with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as Resource Person to facilitate need assessment of cyclone SIDR, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)/ Intrcooperation project and USAID SHOUHADRO program under CARE Bangladesh. I have wide range of experience to work at urban and rural areas under livelihood and market development approached project with diversified activities for reducing poverty of extreme poor and poor peoples. I have 15 years of wide ranging managerial and technical experiences and skills in planning, organizing, facilitating, development of training module and different operational manuals, schedule, monitoring, evaluation, private sector and partnership development, M4P approach, value chain, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, facilitate climate field school, linkage building with government and non government organizations, reporting, documentation, resource and financial management etc. I have specialized skills and experience in the field of marketing, value chain and private sector development. I have been worked from 2010 to 2013 (March) with KATALYST supported market development project where I have been gathered intensive and diversified knowledge and experiences regarding service market, value chain, development of Business Membership Organization (BMO) samity model, development of Public Private Partnership (PPP), Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P), development of strategic plan, coordination among producer groups, traders and government extension departments especially Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Department of Fisheries (DoF) and Department of Livestock Services (DLS) in Bangladesh, information management, development of input and output market, organization development and Partner NGO management etc.
