Ellie is an international development practitioner with multi-sectoral expertise in gender and social inclusion (GESI), market systems development (MSD), international migration and counter-trafficking. She has a diverse skillset, having held a range of technical, leadership and management roles over the last 16 years. This includes positions with World Vision, the United Nations Migration Agency (IOM) and other organizations. Ellie currently leads World Vision Australia (WVA)’s economic empowerment team overseeing a global portfolio of inclusive market systems development, financial inclusion, and women’s economic empowerment (WEE) programs. She led the development of World Vision’s WEE framework, technical guidance, and M&E approach, significantly expanding their global portfolio of targeted WEE programs working on agri-food systems. Ellie works to bridge disciplines, by bringing together MSD and gender transformative approaches to promote holistic WEE outcomes. In her role, she’s worked to build an evidence base around this approach. She is a pragmatic technical advisor, contributing strategic advice, capacity building and technical backstopping across the project cycle to programs in the Asia Pacific region (e.g. NSVC, MASE 2, iLIVE, MORINGA etc).
