Senior Advisor - Private Sector and Market Systems

Alison Griffith is the Senior Advisor on private sector and market systems in the policy and practice team at Practical Action. She has worked extensively on issues related to inclusive and sustainable market systems and private sector development. Her main areas of interest are in inclusive, sustainable systems and economies, and emerging forms of finance such as impact investment. Alison is currently the co-chair of the Bond Private Sector group which comprises of 70 NGOs, aiming to influence policy on the role of the private sector in development.

She has over 25 years professional experience in the UK and overseas, including living and working in the East Africa region. Her background includes working with the private sector in agricultural insurance, livestock services, fair trade and consultancy. She has played a key role in global learning and advocacy, for example, serving two terms on the board of the SEEP, the leading global network on inclusive markets and financial systems
