Dear MiC community,
I'm pleased to write to you with an exciting opportunity related to the facilitation and administration of the Markets in Crises Community of Practice. Many thanks in advance for helping to spread the word and for encouraging strong candidates to apply!
As many of you are aware, the MiC CoP was initially founded and managed by a volunteer Advisory Committee (AC). From late 2017 through late 2021, the MiC CoP was facilitated by the SEEP Network with guidance and direction provided by a reconstituted voluntary AC. With funding from USAID/BHA, SEEP worked with the MiC AC to develop and implement annual learning agendas. Following the unfortunate collapse of the SEEP Network in late 2021, administration and facilitation of MiC are being provided on a temporary basis by the MIC AC and SCALE, a BHA-funded initiative. The IRC has applied for funding to ensure the longer-term accessibility of key resources and the continuation of prioritized learning activities related to the MiC CoP. Pending successful completion of the award negotiation phase, the grant is expected to begin on October 1st, 2022 and to run through September 30th, 2024. The IRC now seeks a consultant or small team of consultants to lead the implementation of numerous activities during the project.
The consultant(s) will be responsible for a combination of (1) administrative/project management; (2) promotion and outreach; (3) technical; and (4) facilitation tasks to ensure a well-functioning, dynamic, responsive and inclusive Advisory Committee and Community of Practice. The ideal candidate/team will have the following qualifications:
* Strong technical knowledge and field level experience with market-based programming and market analysis in humanitarian contexts as well as strong networks and knowledge of the MBP landscape; some knowledge of and experience with market systems development programming is desired
* Applicants must have proven skills facilitating discussions and advancing strategic processes among mid-to-senior level professionals from different backgrounds; in communicating technical concepts in a clear and accessible way; in speaking and writing; and in managing projects with numerous moving parts. They should be highly organized and strong critical thinkers.
* Experience in planning and carrying out in-person and online learning events for large and diverse audiences is preferred
* Applicants must be committed to not only the technical and facilitative aspects of this role but to the administrative and project management aspects as well
For more information about the role, and to apply, please refer to the consultancy announcement here: https://rescue.csod.com/ux/ats/careersite/1/home/requisition/30208?c=rescue. Please address any questions directly to me at [Hidden email] <mailto:[Hidden email]>. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
