Thanks Jimena, this is a really interesting topic and I look forward to hearing more. I noticed that the CALP East Africa Regional CWG is also currently talking about supporting populations on the move. They are holding their regular meeting today, and have specifically framed the invite around CVA and Human Mobility. Although cash focused, I thought it might have been of interest to some in this community as well. I have pasted the introduction from their invite below. *We are pleased to invite you to join us for our Eastern Africa Regional CWG meeting, happening next week on **April 11th, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM EAT**. This month, we will be delving deeper into the theme of **CVA and Human Mobility**, a topic that's both timely and important given the current crises facing the region.* *In light of the myriad challenges—ranging from conflicts and economic downturns to natural calamities—countless individuals find themselves compelled to undertake dangerous journeys across borders, in pursuit of a safer and more secure life. Our April meeting aims to shed light on how we can best extend our support to people on the move through CVA, offering them a helping hand when they need it most.* **Here is the link to the RCWG Meeting scheduled for Thursday 11th April 2024 at 1430hrs, Nairobi time.** **Zoom Link:**

Some of us have been reflecting a lot on challenges pose by mixed migration settings, displacement, transit situation, in simpler words, when human mobility leads to humanitarian needs and crisis situations. So, I wonder, what is the role the markets? Do market actors have a role to play? How market-based programming can be an added value through the whole journey of the most vulnerable population? How markets behave in the different points of the journey? In origin, transit? Destiny? Return? How are labour markets affected by human mobility? What is the role of remittances? How does the population on the move interact with different markets; regulated, informal, parallel, illicit? More questions than answers for now.. but I am keen on triggering reflections and potential discussions… please do share your thoughts, experiences and tools that can bring light to this line of work. More to come!
