BEAM Exchange

This paper explores how to build high-performing teams for programmes that use the market systems approach. 

It is based on research commissioned by the BEAM Exchange in 2017. The research set out to identify the core competencies of high-performing MSD teams and the practices that team leaders adopt to recruit and build such teams. 

Through numerous in-depth interviews with donor staff / advisors,  programme team leaders and MSD consultants from implementing organisations, the study reviewed theories, models and literature that explains high performance.
