2017 - 2018 annual report for the Alliances Caucasus Programme (ALCP).

ALCP is an SDC market development programme working in the following sub-sectors in Georgia:

  • dairy
  • beef
  • sheep
  • honey

It focuses on rural regions that are all highly dependent on livestock production.

Intervention description

ALCP uses the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) approach to create sustainable changes benefitting poor small-scale farmers in the selected four sub-sectors by:

  • improving access to quality inputs
  • improving access to trade and operating environment
  • promoting scale and long-term behaviour change

The report outlines ALCP’s work in 2017-2018, highlighting the key lessons learnt and impact from interventions.

Evidence methodology

The report is prepared using data that has been aggregated from ALCP interventions.

The results measurement system applied to a major portion of interventions in Ajara and Kvemo Kartli has been audited using the DCED Standard for results measurement.
