Analysis of the underlying questions of why seemingly obvious solutions to improving animal-sourced protein consumption, specifically the production of chickens and eggs, have yet to deliver promising outcomes in Timor-Leste. 

Timor-Leste has the highest level of malnutrition among countries in the Asia-Pacific region. 

The four ‘hard choices’ presented in the report are based on a variety of references and readings both from experiences inside Timor-Leste and globally. The ‘Putting it all together’ section provides synthesised suggestions based on the evidence.
