The report is a result of an ITC opportunities study as part of the NTF III three-year project.
The sustainable developemet of tourism is hindered by political instability. Tourism supply chains remain poorly connected and international visits are still low.
The opportunity is there for sustainable tourism development providing integrated planning strategies are undertaken. Developing more responsible and sustainable products and services will lead to an increase in responsible visitors, create a competitive advantage on world markets and contribute to sustainable growth and employment.
