The SDC-funded MOLI project aims to reduce poverty in the Kakheti region of Georgia by upgrading the livestock market system to increase the inclusion of smallholder farmers.
Intervention description
The MOLI Project uses the M4P approach to reduce poverty through livestock sector development in Kakheti Region in eastern Georgia.
The project has three outcomes:
- Market access
- Production
- Business-enabling environment
This market study shows the change in availability of concentrated (animal) feed among farmers from 2012 to 2017.
Evidence methodology
The study relies on surveys and interviews with key stakeholders from the livestock sector, including:
- animal feed producers
- local feed mills
- input shops and veterinary pharmacies
- animal feed-buying farmers
