Promoting livelihoods of forcibly displaced persons and host communities in Jijiga, Ethiopia
Launched in 2018, this ILO project seeks to adapt and test tools and approaches to promote livelihoods of forcibly displaced persons and their host communities in the Jijiga Region in Ethiopia.
As a first step, the project conducted an assessment that will inform the project strategy and determine interventions to:
- develop skills and capacities of the target group to engage with the market
- develop sectors and value chains with potential to diversify opportunities available to the target group
The overarching objective is to then derive recommendations for tools and approaches to promote livelihoods in context of forced displacement more broadly.
