This report documents case studies of Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) across selected interventions in Nigeria's MADE II programme.

The objectives of the report include:

  • to determine socio-economic gender characteristics and dimensions in relation to women in the respective agricultural value chains
  • to understand the impact of, and success stories from, MADE’s intervention on the economic livelihoods of the women
  • to address challenges to the role of women in the agricultural value chains and suggest possible ways or strategies for enhancing women’s participation and growth in them

The six case studies confirm, and explore in detail, some of the key challenges faced by women where economic power is concerned and how MADE has been addressing them.
