A report on the extent of conservation farming uptake in Northern Ghana.
Mechanised ploughing is a traditional practice in Northern Ghana. The introduction of conservation farming minimum tillage is expanding, but much more needs to be done to drive the message home.
This report presents the findings of field research commissioned by MADE and carried out by the Zambian Conservation Farming Unit (CFU).The report presents the key findings from:
- interviews with farmers, agribusinesses and government extension workers
- the advantages of conservation farming practices
- a review of the challenges and opportunities for conservation farming in Northern Ghana.
