Poverty reduction is the ultimate objective of both Market Development (M4P) and Sustainable Livelihoods approaches (SLA). However, the means by which to achieve this goal often differ.
Realising the need to find common grounds of understanding between the two approaches, SDC commissioned this paper to compare two projects in Bangladesh: KATALYST for M4P and LEAF/SAAKTI for SLA. The findings were written up into two case studies, which are part of this publication.
