This set of case studies seeks to demonstrate how Christian Aid is shifting market power into the hands of poor, marginalised and excluded people so that they can secure a fair value for their work, and can access products and services that benefit them.

These stories showcase different aspects of Christian Aid's approach, but all share a common theme of empowerment, participation and inclusiveness. Christian Aid has adopted the Participatory Market Systems Development approach, developed by Practical Action, which brings together market stakeholders to analyse the market situation for a particular supply chain and then decide on actions to address the identified issues.
