This session, at the BEAM Conference 2016, brought together market development and health experts to discuss key issues that are critical for the provision of reliable, appropriate and affordable health services for marginalised and vulnerable populations. It looked at the evolution of thinking and practice in health care provision, from direct government provision to public private partnerships, as well as examine how these partnerships should function. Panellists also debated the critical issue of how to reach the extremely poor and marginalised and how market development can help reach them.
