This brief identifies practical design considerations for inclusive agricultural Direct Sales Agent (DSA) models.

It draws from PRISMA's research and case studies from other sectors - including the health sector. By better understanding the success factors in commercial and inclusive DSA models, PRISMA seeks to better advise companies (and other development programmes) in designing and implementing agent models that fulfil business objectives and contribute to women’s economic empowerment.

This brief and the supporting design checklist are intended for private sector development practitioners, donors and agricultural companies seeking to improve and/or begin implementing an effective rural sales agent model.
