1pm (UK), 8am (NY/DC), 2pm (CEST), 3pm (Kenya)   (time converter)

Speakers:
Mark Thomas and Camila Studart (Nathan Associates)

This webinar will focus on key experiences and lessons from the MADE programme in northern Ghana by exploring what can be achieved by working effectively with agribusinesses.

It will look at the broader issues facing agricultural transformation such as technology transfer, information failures, workforce development and inclusion, and government failures.

The webinar will focus in particular on:

  • the implications of putting agribusinesses at the core, rather than as a particular market or sub-market
  • how the programme evolved and presented opportunities to tackle unforeseen issues and failures – such as in the labour market, innovation, R and D
  • the importance of bundling and having a holistic approach to delivering real productivity gains – for both farmer and businesses

Additional Information:

Particularly relevant for those involved in agricultural/agribusiness development and interested in market systems, innovation and technology transfer, and private sector development.
