Over the past two decades, Social and Behavior Change frameworks and market systems have evolved into approaches with promise for expanded application in agricultural and rural development. ACDI/VOCA has increasingly deployed SBC methodologies in our market systems activities, and is an active partner in both the vibrant communities of practice for SBC and market systems. While these communities have had some interaction and dialogue, they have not necessarily engaged with each other in a systematic way.

On May 3rd, 2017, at 9:00 AM – 11:30 PM EDT,  ACDI/VOCA will host “Facilitating Behavior Change: Market Systems and Social and Behavior Change Frameworks,” a virtual conference to cross-introduce the current and emerging best practices in both methodologies to a wider audience, identify common and potential pitfalls for integrating the methods, and identify pathways for further collaboration moving forward.

Speakers:
Dr.  Lenette  Golding, Program Director for the Alive & Thrive program in Nigeria, has a unique background in social and behavior change and public health communication. She is an active leader in CORE Group’s Social and Behavior Change Working Group and an assistant adjunct professor in global health at Emory University.

Lucho Osorio, is an independent consultant with more than 20 years of experience in international development and inclusive market systems. His expertise includes organizational learning, capacity building, participatory market systems analysis, strategic planning, program design, and more.
