Stuart Worsley
Stuart Worsley has worked for 30 years in international development. Recently, he has co-authored (with Danny Burns of IDS) a book entitled "Navigating Complexity in International Development." Here, he documents cases where he and others have been able to achieve transformative change at scale. Stuart currently works with Mercy Corps in Ethiopia where he is working to help communities in the Somali Region and pastoralist zone to transition out of poverty. Stuart has particular expertise in livestock and agriculture livelihood systems. He has led agriculture value chain facilitation processes, has successfully brought farmers, private, public and civil society organisation interests together to unlock value chain constraints, has stimulated the growth of local markets in Africa, has supported agriculture infrastructure and producer capability development in Asia, and has implanted participatory agricultural extension services in North Africa.
