Currently, Team Leader of a systems change programme in Tanzania, i4idtz.org, tackling complex development challenges through multi-stakeholder innovation, design and testing. Across diverse sectors, we have catalysed transformational changes in -
- inclusive education, developing a new common national sign language through schools, national TV broadcasters, Universities, Ministries, teacher training colleges and civil society;
- safe water, prototyping GIS systems with water utilities to increase network reach and connections, now rolling out nationally through industry associations, regulators and government;
- menstrual health products, catalysing market innovations, new products, new distribution strategies and policy reforms, to improve access, affordability and choice for poor women and girls;
- Dar es Salaam solid waste management, testing and scaling innovations with informal waste collectors, companies, municipalities and national policy to tackle an urban and marine pollution crisis overwhelming a coastal city of 6 million people;
- sub-national investment facilitation, prototyping a new type of regional government service to facilitate industrial investment in the regions.
Previously, Practice Director for Palladium's Economic Growth practice. Managing a portfolio of national and sectoral programmes across 15 countries. Projects to enhance access and functioning of rural, agricultural and inclusive markets, advising governments on economic and investment policy and accelerating investment and growth for innovation and social enterprises.
