Role
Programme Director

Dr Daniel Nugraha is the Programme Director of AIP-Rural (Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Rural Economic Development) funded by DFAT, the Australian Government. It is one of the largest M4P programmes in the world. He leads a portfolio of 4 projects: PRISMA (agriculture commodities), ARISA (applied research & innovation), TIRTA (tertiary irrigation), and SAFIRA (agricultural finance).

Prior to his current role he worked for USAID Indonesia (Economic Growth Office) mainly on agriculture, poverty, and macroeconomic policy analyses as well as for GTZ RED (Regional Economic Development) Indonesia on promoting agricultural value chains, where he was also a founding member of ValueLinks International. His passion for developing other people’s talents and skills made him a dynamic teacher, trainer, and mentor; a role he has been playing for almost 20 years. His life-long dedication to learning is also reflected in his adaptive management style, i.e. striving for organizational and team performance improvements incrementally through iterative learning, changes, and decision making within an environment full of uncertainties.
