Hi all, Élan RDC (UKAID) worked extensively on PSD & MSD in conflict affected areas. Sharing lessons learnt in the following article: [Adapting Market Systems Development in Conflict Affected Areas](https://www.elanrdc.com/s/Private-Sector-Development-in-Conflict-Affected-Areas_21072021.pdf)

In addition to what Karri has shared, the Primer on Private Sector Engagement (PSE) for Fragile and Conflict-Affected Situations (FCS), which identifies the risks and benefits of engaging the private sector in FCS and addresses special considerations and unique approaches to facilitate successful collaboration, is a good place to begin learning more about PSE. https://www.marketlinks.org/resources/primer-private-sector-engagement-fragile-and-conflict-affected-situations

Benson, I'm interested to hear more about this question... because of course there are many private sector actors that are already in the country facing a crisis. So do you mean getting local private sector actors to work in new geographies (where they may perceive a higher risk) or do you mean convincing international/regional companies to come into the country (like we have seen with IKEA in Ethiopia and Gap in (?)Jordan)?

I also wondered if folks have seen this blog post and resource on PSE in fragile contexts? I found it a great starting point. https://www.marketlinks.org/blogs/whats-different-about-doing-pse-fragile-and-conflict-affected-situations-four-key

Any ideas and experiences on how to 'keep/motivate private sector partners' to work with you in crisis settings?
