Report summarising the activities carried out by EcoVecindarios during the programme's second phase (2013 - 2016).

EcoVecindarios' intervention strategy went from working mainly with communities and neighbourhoods, to working more directly with municipalities and the Ministry of Environment and Water.

A total of 11 cities were supported in improving their solid waste management. The Ministry of the Environment and Water was assisted in the creation of the first National Waste Management Law, which was promulgated in October 2015.

In the private sector the project supported several green businesses focused on developing new recycling products and services. They became a fundamental part of the waste value chain.

EcoVecindarios is a private sector, integrated solid waste management project supported by the Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation (Swisscontact).
