A webinar focussing on the definition of systemic change.

Rethinking systemic change: economic evolution and institutions was a research project funded by DFID through the BEAM Exchange over the course of 2016. It was jointly implemented by IDS, Mesopartner, Itad and Palladium.

The primary aim of the research was to find a conceptually sound definition of systemic change. It also looked at the broader question of how market systems approaches can contribute to inclusive economic development. The answer, in short, is to shift the focus away from improving transactions at the micro level towards enabling actors to continuously shape an institutional landscape that supports inclusive economic evolution.

The webinar presented the research and case study and discussed the implications for market systems development practice.
